Avoiding things

I don't want to do things. So here are my adorable kitties!!

And then they got bigger!!

Oof

I hate making decisions. Fun vs feelings of responsibility...darn it.

In other thoughts - I'm getting that wonderous question of "What do you want for your birthday?" My thoughts? A new kitchen, a new car, a big flatscreen TV (nothing huge, I'd settle for 40")...Alternatively? Apparently my entire Amazon.com list is made of movies and soundtracks. I do LOVE soundtracks...but I'm impressed at how uninspired I am.

Speaking of uninspired, I need to write an abstract for a poster I don't want to present. Wee.

So my parents brought me all the CDs I left at home...

And now I'm remembering why.

Some of it I just can't help but listen to every once in a blue moon. Some of it I'd never openly admit I owned. And a lot of it just brings back strange memories...

I'd say I'd never openly admit I owned some Nickelback, but you're about to find out anyhow...NPR did a piece on the creator of "This is How You Remind Me of Someday" It's a mashup of Nickelback's two songs "How You Remind Me" and "Someday." If you didn't already hate them, welcome to the club. They have the formula for catchy and much to my dismay, I know all the words. This is just a little trippy. I first heard this in high school or maybe early college. I just remember dialing up on my parents computer and finding this. Read more about it on the NPR link or click the song title to hear the mashup - it's trippy.

Lab - my other home

As I was always warned (and let's face it, I was already aware), my lab has become Home 2. Probably an equal to my actual house. The last 2 weeks have been riddled with 11-14 hour days. Bleh. So much so that when my friends came to visit they had to spend an hour with me in lab this weekend. And the weekend before that my parents sat in the car while I took care of some non-visitor friendly lab work. Maybe I should focus more and stop blogging at work. I'd probably get more done that way...

In an update on my previous post: I can't stop eating the animal crackers in my desk. Crap.

I guess my boyfriend is on the right track (I never like to admit these things) but making me run 2 miles in 90 degree weather couldn't hurt in response to my goofy eating habits. I hate running but it looks like it's on the docket again tonight. My theory on running since my Jr year of college: I don't run unless something is chasing me and I started doing Tae Kwon Do so things wouldn't chase me...Somehow I got confused and my TKD group last year convinced me to run in a relay marathon. It was pretty sweet actually. There were people cheering us the whole way. You couldn't go more than 10 feet without someone yelling 'Great Job,' 'You're almost there,' 'Keep it up,' etc. Sadly, I didn't have my own cheering section during training.
